How it works…

The programme runs over approx. 18 weeks and then concludes with a 2 day practical weekend including an assessment.

The course includes 9 lessons and 9 follow up live sessions, concluding with an amazing 2 day practical weekend.

Weekly sessions will alternate between, work assignments delivered online and a live online session the following week.

Student instructors will watch tutorial video/s and and learn from handouts. Each lesson will include homework to study, your homework will include coaching skills covering exercises to improve observational and communication skills, trouble shooting, and exercise planning. You’ll also be presenting videos of you training your dog and videos of you training someone else.
During the live sessions student instructors will receive feedback on their homework and have an opportunity to ask questions on the subjects covered

Here you’ll be demonstrating the skills that you have learnt through exercises with your own dog and teaching stooge students (you will need to arrange your own accommodation or travel).

About Us...

  • Claire Denyer

I have been training dogs professionally since 2016 including pet dogs and working gundogs.

I have enjoyed training my own gundogs since 2012

I am a behavioural trainer who works with every dog and owner individually taking a holistic approach to training.

I am proud to have trained alongside and with some incredible dog trainers and behaviourists including dog behaviourist Robert Alleyne (attending his 12 week instructors course in 2016) John Rogerson and have continued to attend various courses, workshops and seminars including pet gundog training, canine first aid, dog aggression awareness workshops, dog on dog aggression courses, dog on human aggression courses, Zoopharmacognosy, and Tellington Ttouch to name a few, and studied dog training and behaviour with the CIDBT

I am passionate about pet and gundog training.

I believe in educating owners on how appropriate training can help prevent behavioural problems with pet dogs, and, that gundog training doesn't require harsh handling.

I have a passion for and specialise in working with reluctant retrievers.

Whether the owner wants to work their gundog or not, having a reluctant retriever can bring unwanted behaviours, and, potential risks.

I enjoy working my dogs, and have a couple of local shoots where I work my dogs, usually picking up, but occasionally beating too.

I run puppy classes, 121s, gundog classes, workshops, and training days, as well as walked up training days and KC working gundog certificate days for my clients.

I am proud to be a featured expert and group expert for the LWDG and also a Canine Instructor Academy Trainer

I am the author of the puppy book 'The Life of Rose' raising puppies the family dog services way
